MoonQuest Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (“MoonQuest.AI”) was established in March 2025, with a registered capital of RMB 12.84 million. It is registered at Greater China International Exchange Square, Futian District, Shenzhen, and its legal representative is Zeng Ruqi.
MoonQuest.AI is a hard-tech company with rare, disruptive chip-level quantum-AI fusion computing technology. Jointly founded by leading frontier chip experts from China and abroad, it aims to become a globally leading provider of core quantum-intelligence chips and key modules in the era of quantum-intelligence fusion. The company has capabilities in cryogenic quantum integrated circuit design and collaborative engineering implementation of error-corrected quantum-intelligence systems. Through architecture-level innovation in scalable fault-tolerant quantum computing systems, it seeks to drive quantum computing from laboratory demonstrations of quantum supremacy toward practical, large-scale applications.
The project began R&D in January 2024, with cumulative early-stage investment exceeding RMB 100 million. It has established R&D operations across Suzhou, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Xi’an, and owns wholly owned subsidiaries including Guangdong Yupan Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Yupan Wenyue Technology Co., Ltd.
In SRDA, its system-level streamlined reconfigurable dataflow architecture, MoonQuest.AI released the white paper SRDA: A Dedicated Computing Architecture for Large AI Models. Unlike traditional GPGPU architectures, SRDA is a streamlined but reconfigurable dataflow architecture capable of supporting training and inference for mainstream models such as Transformer, Diffusion, Mamba, and MoE. It systematically addresses core bottlenecks in large-model computing, including insufficient memory bandwidth, low compute utilization, difficulty scaling large clusters, and high power consumption. The team’s self-developed QLink I/O fusion interconnect technology aims to overcome bandwidth bottlenecks in traditional interconnect protocols and enable efficient data center-level data flow.
In trapped-ion quantum computing chip integration, MoonQuest.AI uses semiconductor-industry methods to advance the engineering of quantum-intelligence fusion computing, transforming trapped-ion quantum computing from an experience-dependent scientific problem into an engineering effort that can be simulated, designed, taped out, and tested. Around the QCCD (Quantum Charge-Coupled Device) architecture, the company pursues scalable expansion by dividing the computing system into functional zones for storage, logic operations, readout, and loading, and using electric fields to control ion movement between zones. This addresses engineering bottlenecks such as routing explosion, synchronization, and latency as scale increases. It has completed tape-out validation for several chips, including cryogenic quantum measurement and control, trapped-ion QPU, and cross-temperature-zone quantum interconnect.
MoonQuest.AI is composed of leading frontier chip experts from China and abroad. Its founder is a national-level talent in quantum integrated chips. The team integrates integrated circuits, quantum physics, and advanced computing, with core members mainly from microelectronics engineering backgrounds. Its core R&D team has more than 20 people, with an average age in their early 30s, forming a lean and efficient team oriented around engineering. Executive President Zeng Ruqi plays a key leading role in strategic planning, industrial resource integration, and engineering implementation.
In semiconductor manufacturing and process, MoonQuest.AI has established cooperative research and industrialization strategic partnerships with domestic semiconductor manufacturing and process companies such as SMIC, Xinmeng Technology, and CR Micro. In academia, it cooperates with Guangdong University of Technology and several quantum research institutions to advance frontier research and engineering translation in quantum-intelligence fusion computing.
Since its establishment, MoonQuest.AI has completed seed and angel funding rounds. Investors include Yuanben Fund, Dingxu Investment, Tongtuo Optoelectronics, and Xinyun Capital.
